Back to California and news for 2014

sts3It was really a special summer in France and when I leave sts2there, I am already looking forward to the next time. But between now and then there are many wonderful workshops to teach and people to meet and creative experiences to share!

sts4I’ve just posted my 2014 schedule here (as it stands right sparks4now) and wanted to chat about the first workshop of 2014.  I’m so happy to be returning to Cabin Fever Clay Fests again. I’ll be teaching a full day workshop and a half day workshop. The full day workshop is SCULPTURAL BOOKS, TRIPTYCHS and STANDING SCREENS . We’ll cover a cornucopia of polymer clay/mixed media techniques We will bind the sculptural books with a text block of unusual papers. Triptychs and screens will be hinged and can be used as luminescent candle screens, wall pieces or standing sculptures.

dayle2013-aMy half day workshop-which I will teach twice- is CREATIVE SPARKS! – IGNITING YOUR ART. Lots of fun “igniters”- easy to do and sparksnon-threatening 🙂 and we’ll create a handmade polymer clay book filled with ideas on color, content, imagery, text – kernels of ideas ready to be developed into your personal artwork.

I hope you’ll join me in class! The gathering will be very special as on Tuesday night, Elise Winters and Sarah Shriver will be honored with the Creative Pioneer and Innovator award along with special remembrances of my dear friend Gwen Gibson.
