Painting and Polymer

sunflowersI just had great week with painter and polymer artist Suzanne Jenne co-teaching at La Cascade. We have been developing this workshop for two years and had a wonderful week with eight adventuresome ladies. Most of the group were new to polymer clay and it was such a pleasure for me to introduce them to this medium.

mary11Suzanne and I split the teaching time between painting (on 6’x8″  pieces of heavy watercolor paper) and making a polymer clay “portfolio book” to house the paintings. The covers were made of small polymer clay “tiles” so that I could teach a number of polymer surface techniques.

mary4Each day was a new adventure. We had a silk class with Ann Mason, a great time at the Saturday market in Revel, a picnic at Chateau de Padies, flea market at Les Cammazes, afternoon white port at our village padiescafe, a trip to Albi (won’t go into detail of our adventure getting there- ay yi yi) and lovely conversation and new friendships. AND finally the sunflowers are in bloom- they have been late by a month this summer.

Many thanks to Suzanne, Vicki, Christina, Ann, Bonnie, Sandy, Debby,Lori and Tootie. A great week!
